Sir How should I start studying for economics(gs+optional). Should I start with ncert or direct optional books. I am not from economocs background. Sir Please help.
Hello sir, hope you are well and safe amidst the pandemic.
I had a doubt that how to cop with economics optional without having maths background, because there are models and models in the syllabus. I am really suffering with it sir. Your guidance will be helpful.
Thankyou
Hi. Don’t worry. For economics optional in UPSC, mathematical usage is not at all required. Very rarely have they asked any question from it. But, you need to be well versed in the understanding and usage of graphs
Yes sir, i completly agree with you that numerical questions are rare in exam but don’t you think that to understand some basic concepts and models throughly, that involves calculus as well, maths is necessary. And if not then please give some tips to by pass it.
Thanks for you reply.
Hello sir,
Should I make notes from everywhere i.e from the daily current affairs portion of ias baba, newspaper and insight on india whichever I read ?
Hi. No need to make sources from all of them. would simply be wastage of time. Rather, make notes from newspaper + vision / insights monthly magazines. that too not all topics. Rather those which is related to syllabus
All the best !
